Juntendo University was founded as a private medical school in 1838 and has since grown into a comprehensive health university and graduate school consisting of 9 faculties, 5 graduate schools, and 6 affiliated hospitals. Our school promotes initiatives for international contributions through the three pillars of "education," "research," and "practical/medical treatment". In accordance with our school’s motto of ''Jin'' and our philosophy of ''Continuous Progress,'' we uphold a school culture of ''Three-noes Principles,'' which seeks out the best people and provides them with opportunities to succeed without discrimination based on alma mater, nationality, or gender. We work to nurture and develop people who can support healthcare and welfare.
We are truly honored to host the ASAIHL conference again on our campus and to assume this significant role. We are determined to take full responsibility for a successful conference. Welcome to 2024 ASAIHL conference in Juntendo University. Recent changes in the medical environment include new diagnostics and treatments being developed as immune and genetic information becomes clearer. Additionally, as AI technology advances, AI has become indispensable for diagnosis and treatment. With the increase in information and technology and calls for "work style reform," there is a trend to utilize IT in medical care and medical education.
In this conference, we created a program with the theme of education using IT. We organized the current problems mainly related to medical care and education, and look for clues as to how to use IT technology to solve the problems. Particularly as technology progresses rapidly, collaboration among industry, government, and academia are important. As keynote speakers, we are invited from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as well as professors working on innovative projects in collaboration with companies to give lectures and workshops.
In addition, to improve the quality of education, it is important to have two-way interaction and evaluation between the teacher and the learner. At this conference, we invited many students to participate and planned a student-led workshop. Please enjoy. We hope that this conference will provide participants with a clue to improving your education.
Welcome to the 2024 ASAIHL conference. Although Japan is entering the rainy season, I am glad that we were able to welcome you all in nice weather. Since we received the offer to hold the ASAIHL conference at Juntendo University at the end of last year, we have been making preparations at a rapid pace. The theme of this conference was IT. In recent years, medical care has been greatly transformed by AI. This is also because Juntendo is strongly promoting this IT-related medical technology. With the development of IT technology, the world is becoming smaller, and there is a growing need for connections between countries and various universities. We hope that good ideas and connections will be born through active exchange of opinions and discussions at academic conferences. Juntendo University has focused on international collaboration. Many of the volunteer staff wearing purple T-shirts under the secretariat are medical doctors who graduated from medical schools overseas and are planning to work as doctors in Japan in the future. We were looking forward to welcoming you all to Juntendo University. The secretariat will do its best to support you so that you can spend your time comfortably during the conference. We would like to welcome all participants from different parts of the world to Juntendo University and the Tokyo Metropolis which is the financial, cultural, and industrial center of Japan and one of the safest and wealthiest cities in the world.
We are grateful to the organizing committee of Juntendo University, especially Dr. Mori and his capable team for hosting this ASAIHL conference on Advances in IT Technology on Education. We feel thankful to those who work behind the scenes to make this conference possible.
